Steven's spaceJanuary 28 Latest updateI know ive not added anything recently, but ive been so busy. Moving 400 miles tends to tie up your time for a while! Yes, ive moved back to Scotland! After 10yrs away its been a shock to the system and still settling in.
Watched the NHL All Stars game last night. What an awesome game, and awesome talent on show. Nash, 23 and looks like a seasoned pro! Hes so quick on break away and deadly finisher. the russians looked good, all 7 of them! The skills test was great. Would still liked to have seen Bobby lou in there, but very understandable why he didnt go. Its not every day your wife has a baby.
The nucks havent done too well recently. Very up and down. A little disappointing to be honest. There seems to be to coheasion, not understanding. Come on guys, lets turn it round. And quick please. Maybe time to give Sanford a shot in goal, while Bobby lou is taking some timeout. Im going to be contraversial and something ive resisted, but Nazzy needs to be traded in the summer. We need to a top line scorer.
As for MK Lightning, well they are up and down too. throwing it all away in 3rd period collapses seems to be the norm. A heavy loss last weekend was a shock. I know I cant watch the games anymore but from what ive heard they are all over the place. "D" has seemingly been non-existant. Such a shame after a great start to the season. I hear Grant is getting better with every game. Good on him, hes a cracking you Scottish talent. Can we keep him for next season or maybe a 2-way deal with elite team?
Im now getting to Braehead(Paisley) Pirates games. Not a great showcase of talent but its Hockey!!!!!! Good to see that refs are just as blind in Scotland as they are in England! December 22 Weekly updateChristamas is just a few days away! The Nucks are winning, Lightning are winning and Im on holiday for a week.Ah an early xmas present!
Well, the Nucks are putting up the numbers. Very impressive against Sid the kid the other week. The past week has seen a great 5-0 win against the devils. Bobby Lous first game back after injury and he shuts out. Another win against the Stars stacks up the wins. Whats been good to see is where the goals are coming from. The big line seems to be coming back on song, and the other lines and the rookies are coming good too. And the old horses are geting in ther e too. Well done Trevor Linden, your a legend. Coyotes tonight and the Avalanche tomorow before a few days break and Calgary on the 27th. Its been a tough month, lots of games and far too much travelling. Keep it up guys.
Mk Lightning had 1 of the best games ive seen in a while last weekend, we really loked on song and Grant was just a wonder! Slough at home tonight, 1st meeting this season, should be interesting. Away to Whightlink tomorrow. Good luck guys we can do it.
Happy Holidays to everyone. Keep watching hockey.
Go Canucks Go!!!!!!!! December 08 meOn a more personal note, and I don’t normally talk about me, but.........It’s been a very up and down week. Work has been crap. Have employers have no sense of right and wrong? Of whats achievable and acceptable in a day’s work........What is a decent wage?.....How you can pay more experienced staff more wages for doing the same job...Its sick....And won’t carry on for much longer....Watch this space.
I finally brought closure to something that I have needed to for a long time....I won’t be lied to, deceived or have bullshit stories told to me anymore! It’s brought on big consequences and decisions...Again watch this space.
Finally, I had a great experience the other day...I ran into a guy I hadn’t seen in about 15yrs! It’s a small world...We were drinking buddies workmates. I was shocked and stunned. He was able to put me in contact with another 1 of the same crew. And it turns out we all live within an hour of each other. And to think we all lived in and around Glasgow 15yrs ago. but as life moves on we all lost touch. It’s just so so great to see them again. It’s true what they say...As 1 door closes another 1 opens. weekly updateSo what happening with the Nucks? The guys have come onto a tough game but a winning game. It’s all just so good to watch. Even with some line shaking it’s all been great. The small changes by the coach shows that tinkering can still be made without it upsetting form or our game plan. The players have adapted and still gone out and won. You can’t single out what player for special praise, they have all done well, and the 4th lines have started to produce in all areas. So maybe they do get some extra praise! Sid the Kid is town tonight. It will be interesting to see how the game goes. I hear the buzz in the city is reaching fever pitch, I also hear tickets are changing hands for crazy money. It’s the must see game of the weekend. Lightning only have 1 match this weekend. Tonight at home against Romford. I will be propping up the bar of course and as usual! Will Kurt and Norm go for it again? I hope not. Not because I don’t want to see it, but simply put. Lightning can’t afford ant suspension with having so many injuries. We are short benched enough without losing more through game bans or excessive penalties. December 01 Another month overNovember is over. December, the start of the Christmas season and Ive no Xmas shopping done yet. but who cares! The hockey is great!
Three wins this week alone for the Nucks alone and everyone a shut out! Bobby Lou what a hero! We are looking good and looks like the revival has started earlier than last season! Injuries are reducing in number and Nazzy looks back in peak form. Long may it continue!!!!!!
MK Lightning have more injuries, so even more short benched than we were, thats all we need. Bracknell tonight in the cup, Chelmsford Sunday in the league. I would give up a win tonight for more league points tomorrow.
Its been an emotional season so far for both my teams, ups and downs, but looks like the ups are coming together. Dont you you just love this sport!
